Acid etch floors [ Read Responses | Return to the Index ]
Posted by Corley on Friday, 15 January 2010, at 5:44 p.m. After following a lot from your site on our new home, when it came time to do the acid etch on our new concrete floors we searched for 1/4" tape. We came up with some that is used primarily for some sewing function, that is a lot like masking tape. It did not work well at all, and tended to lift. We then found some at WalMart that is intended for floral use, in holding flowers together in bunches. It is 1/4" wide, water proof, and sticks like mad. It's actually a lot like duct tape, in a skinny green color. It worked wonderfully well for us, so I thought I'd pass that tip along.
This site is all about building a cool, energy efficient house, that makes maximum use of earth sheltered design, passive solar heating and cooling, geothermal exchange energy management, and right sizing of the house for it's designated use. The home's placement is on a south-facing hillside in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. This site describes the design process, the technologies used and the expected results. We also have a comprehensive Links Page for anyone who is also interested in designing a similar project. |
